Knotted Choker and Camera Withdrawal

I bought a couple of shell pendants in a sale and knotted some green cord to hang it form.

I've always really liked chokers and now my head is spinning with ideas for other choker ideas. Pay day was a week or so back so I bought a few things on eBay. It's amazing how vast the range of items for sale on eBay is.
I bought some antique gold coloured camera charms which I'm very excited about receiving. I think you can get a charm in just about every imaginable style so I'm tempted to put some themed bracelets together, even if they're already been done.

My camera battery has died on me. I miss it a lot but am grateful for my iPhone which is capable of producing some high quality and very interesting images.

This was taken in some woodland nearby. It doesn't look like it was taken in a heavily residential area, and it's a good reminder that there are photos to be had everywhere if you look closely enough.

A little blurred admittedly. Still, I like the whiteness and how it 'glows' in the grass.

With my camera out of action (hopefully temporarily) I will have lots of opportunities to exploit my iPhone and its potential.

Snake Belly Bar

I've recently been inspired to try my hand at knotting after seeing some amazing things made from paracord.

I've eagerly awaited my two deliveries of purple and silver cord so I could try one of the knotted bars. First up was the snake belly bar.

It was surprisingly simple to make. This is my first attempt so not as neat and tight as the pros but hopefully I'll improve. I've plenty of ideas for knots and bars so there will be a lot of opportunities to practice. This bar will probably become a bracelet, wearable once I have found a suitable clasp. I could also see it as a handle for a bag..or..or...anything really :)

J.D Lenzen, the blog owner, is a knot expert and has a wonderful Youtube channel here called 'Tying it All Together"-in case you would like to try your hand at a few knots. Some of the knots are actually surprisngly simple but still look very effective. Others are fairly complex but I think could be mastered with a little practice and dexterity. An honoury member of the International Guild of Knot Tyers (yes, such a thing exists) he also has a book called Decorative Fusion Knots.

I think the knots are incredibly beautiful and could be utilised in many things-jewellery, furnishings, clothes and so on. I'll certainly be investing in some nice cord to try out a few of the Celtic knots.
